COMING SOON!
TIP
BE YOURSELF
Writing a good blog should be like having an engaging conversation with a friend. You want it to be personal, inviting, and enjoyable.
TIP
SPELLCHECK
Spellchecking is one of the easiest ways to catch simple errors that might otherwise mar your message.
TIP
READ AND REREAD
I make grammar mistakes all the time. More than I care to admit... But, nothing annoys readers more than glaring errors in your writing, so be wary of what mistakes you are prone to make and reread all of your entries (TWICE) if necessary! A quick run through can help catch problems and give your post more clarity.
TIP
READ IT OUT LOUD
It is one of the best ways to catch errors, clunky sentences and awkward phrasing. Think of your blog as a project in public speaking! You are putting your words out there for everyone to hear and you want to make sure that you sound confident and correct.
TIP
PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT
Write as much as possible! The more comfortable you become with your own voice the more you'll be able to convey with your writing. Over time you will even carve out a distinctive style that is characteristic of you and defines your personality.
OTHER RESOURCES
Clotilde of Chocolate and Zucchini has a fabulous conversions page that is ingredient specific. It is a great resource, not only for international chefs, but for anyone with dietary restrictions that needs to regularly adapt recipes. Check it out!
Unless you have a fully stocked kitchen, you are probably going to have to make a run to the supermarket at least once for any new recipe you try.
But, you always wonder if something in the pantry or spice rack might work just as well, right? Well, the only way to know is to try it and see.... So, you should be excited to hear that Cooking for Engineers has compiled an excellent list of possible substitutions for all types of recipes to help you rework your ingredients to save you yet another grocery trip.
